The score at FARNE is from William Vickers' manuscript tune book (1770), with the editor's comment: "This is a Scottish sounding tune with a Yorkshire title, not found elsewhere."

Many thanks for the responses. I found the sheet music thanks to Farne, but it's a bit blurry, so the ABC will help

Hi redmax, I saw this post a couple of days ago but have only just had time to get my head round making an abc of it - a steep learning curve! Here it is -

I have checked it out in the Concertina.net convertor and it does work. It should be split common time but I didn't know how to do that. Sounds familiar, I'm sure it must have another name. A good place to ask this sort of question is the Tradtunes list, http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/tradtunes/

You can find a midi here: The Sheffield Traditional Fiddlers Society - midi files. Also if you look at this page: The Fiddler's Companion you'll find a reference to a printed source too.

I've been trying to track down the music for a tune called Skipton Lasses but have had no luck. Apparently it was included in vol 2 of Matt Seattle's "Great Northern Tune Book" (from the manuscripts of William Vickers) which is out of print and doesn't seem to be held by any library in the country. Any help appreciated
