I wish I was up in your area. I would probably be a regular attendee.
However, 6 hours each way is a little too far to drive. Although, when I first heard Jean Ritchie live 30 years ago I drove from Staten Island, NY to Killington, VT. and back in one day. That was 6 hours each way. I am a little older now and could never do that again. Time marches on.

Sadly, I am cancelling this concert. Dave and Pamela have an expensive trip and our current reservations simply won't cover it. We will try to re-schedule this one for a more attractive date.

Note to the Maritime crowd: Pamela and Dave have appeared at the Portsmouth Maritime Festival and have a wealth of sea music to offer. Dave also has some music related to the erie Canal and Great Lakes. My God! You might learn a new song!

Mary - I have to pass........I had thought we would have our family gathering celebrating my middle child's 22nd and Tom's and my 30th wedding anniversary (ohmigod) both of which I will miss while I am in Texas on Saturday 25th but it turns out the younger set are having their birthday party then so it leaves Sunday for the family get together......

Hey, I'm really, really looking forward to singing for and with
and visiting with my coastal singing pals. I had a great time
at last years Portsmouth Festival and this is gonna be my big
trip out that way this late Summer/early Fall.
I've been reading stories about the wild times at these
gatherings. Don't disappoint me now!

Dave and I don't get to do nearly enough stuff together.
(For those who don't know, New York is really big in the middle
and it's a long ways from Ithaca to Buffalo) So, this is going
to be a great trip and a wonderful time to visit with each other.

We're in Averill Park, NY (just north of Albany) the night before
and then driving out together that morning. Road Trip!
I can't wait to see what fun songs we throw at each other.

I have seen Dave in Concert and no one can compare to Dave and his ability to remain humble when tuning a banjo.

Check out their websites. Dave is a wonderful entertainer with a seemingly endless font of information on the songs he performs. And he plays the banjo! Pamela has the voice of an angel and she uses it to showcase songs found in years of research and historical studies.

Together they perform songs that bring to life the history of NYS and New England. Through his music Dave is equal parts entertainer, historian, folklorish and comedian. Pam is a singer of story telling songs, sometimes in early a cappella style and sometimes accompanied by mountain dulcimer.
