Yes, both Lief Sogrino and his sister Liv appear in folk songs.

So does Robin Banks.   (Actually, the female lead singer for the band Howling Gael in their second incarnation was named that, too.)

Then there's that cowboy Ty Yaiyippee who is often being called to "come" in western songs.

Not to mention:
Ty Mekangaroo (down)
Claus DeDoor   (who appears in the Kingston Trio song "San Miguel")
Luka Lee and Luka Weather (You'll find them in the song "High Barbary")
Luka Yonder pops up in other folk songs

And
"I'm Lou Kinova, afore Liv Clover ..."

SharonA, those 3 names you mentioned in your last post are from the song "Doe Ramie," of course.

There are also many songs about women named "Alma."   E.g.,
Alma Loving (Beatles)
Alma Trials (folk spiritual)
Alma Luster (mentioned in the song "You Can't Get a Man With A Gun"
Alma Tomorrows (sung by Frank Sinatra)

As for that Robbie Burns song we sing at New Year's Eve, I probably should have said:

"Should Aldo Quentin's be forgotten, nay, vibrato mine?
Should Aldo Quentin's be forgot and Daisy Valdlang's sign?
For Raoul Lang's sign, Medea, for Raoul Lang's sign,
Will, take a cup o' kindness yet for Raoul Lang's syne."

Reversing the question - 'Voice of the People' gives the song usually known as 'Kilkenny Louse-house' as 'Burke's Engine', a mishearing by the editors of the name, Buck St John (pro. Singeon)'.
It has been indexed in Roud as Burke's Engine'.

Myrtle Green and her friend Bracken Brown (although I've never actually come across anyone named Bracken).

And there's -- "Where are the Joys I have met in the morning?" A question posed by Burns. I wasn't one of them. I didn't meet him in the afternoon either.

My name comes and goes in singers hearts quite often too.

I guess the Psalms in the Bible would count as songs, but in any case, the 23rd Psalm has oft been set to music or adapted as a song.   It mentions at least 3 names:

Shirley Goodness
and
Mercy Shell

Those two ladies follow us all the rest of our days.

Good one, Art. LOL

Our friend Amos is also mentioned in many a folk song. E.g., in the song "House Carpenter" we have the final line:

"Those are the hills of Hell, my love,
And there you and Amos go."

John Hartford did a set on the Julia Belle Swain right after I'd done my show once and he started with his song that contains the line "It's our theme song for falling in love"---and he looked up at me, as if he had a sudden idea. Then he re-sang the line as "It's Art Thieme song for falling in love."

I thought it was nice --I think. ;-)

From the song "Mick McGuire," it seems we have a transgendered heroine:

"... She was Faron Fatton Fordy ... "

And then there's that German guy Hans who is always being held in the moonlight, on the back porch, while walking down lovers' lane, etc.

(e.g., "holding Hans in the moonlight")

And let's not forget our little freckle-faced, red-headed guy:

"Howdy, you mend a broken heart."

"Funny Butt, when you're near me, I'm in the mood for love." -- I love it, geezer!

From a song of roughly the same era, there was also that title gal "Myra Manse."

And from an earlier era, there was that guy Bill Bao (who had his own moon).

Then, later on, Elvis sang about "Dawn B. Krewel." In another of his songs he sang, "Return, Lucinda."

But we must ne'er forget the quintessential accidental name in song: "Lady Mondegreen"

(Aside:   I just had a 'mondegreen' moment while listening to the news as I typed.   At first I heard the reporter to announce an upcoming story about "a tax on elderly women in Washington DC," and I thought, "Gee, what are they gonna try to tax next!?"
(Turns out it was about "attacks," of course,)

Back to accidental names.
When my little bro and I were teenagers, we heard the Kingston Trio's version of "Southcoast," in which it seemed that the narrator had a pony named Lightning or maybe "Like Lightning."

My little bro, at least, couldn't resist saying the line as, "I saddled my pony, like, "Lightning," or as "... my pony, "Like Lightning."
