Subject: Healdsburg Guitar Festival From: GUEST,pickit Date: 12 Aug 07 - 01:22 PM For anyone who might be going to the above, which takes place in Healdsburg, California, August 17-19. The Scottish luthier Bill Kelday, who's built instruments for Tony McManus, the Celic guitarist, and also does work for John Renbourn, is exhibiting (at great expense) at the Festival, and is taking five instruments with him, to be demonstrated by the German guitarist Peter Finger. (The demo takes place on Friday at 3.00pm.) The instruments are all steel-string, which is his forte, and include a baritone, a terz, an 0M, a 00 and a 000, the last of which is an outstanding instrument. If you're going to be there, then it would be more than worthwhile to take a look at his work. (You should be able to find him fairly easily - apparently kilts are going to be involved.) Meantime, here's a link to his site - http://www.keldayguitars.com Thanks, Cookie |
