I can vouch for the Boston Society weekend being good fun - I was there in 2005 (The week before THE getaway) and had a great time , despite the almost continual rain !

Hi folks,

Just wanted to let you know that the Folk Song Society of Greater Boston's annual Fall Getaway Weekend is going to be at a lovely camp in Becket MA this year, in the Berkshires. It will be held Saturday through Monday of Columbus Day weekend (Oct 6-8, 2007). Our staff this year includes Planet Banjo (a duo from Arlington MA) and ballad singer Judy Cook from Maryland. It's always a fun, relaxing weekend with great food and lots of opportunity for jams and song swaps. More information at http://www.fssgb.org.
