I visited the Digital Media Centre in Barnsley yesterday and the building is about 85% complete

I personally feel that it is not really [at the moment] set up for a folk event!!

The planned Flood relief concert as you may be aware organised by Keith Gudgin has been postponed for Sep 29th

I have taken this over from Keith and find that I havent seen the venue yet and Keith certainly did not expect the type of venue proposed! The building isnt quite complete and I do need time to make contacts and sort things out

There are a lot of excellent acts wishing to take part in my view and it is my view that other ways of supporting the flood locally to you may be useful!

However, the 29th Sept clashes with a West Yorks Charity event, follows a folk event on the 28th Sep 1/4 mile away!

In view of the proximity to Gainsbro ff, I think a November date may be appropriate.

I do however need support on the day and hope to have Barnsley fc on board

Many things need to be reconsidered and I do apologise to all for this kind gesture from all involved, I do know that your hearts are in the right place

Please let everyone who volunteered know, I have an email list of about 50! from interested people

I will also post on mudcat.
