Subject: RE: Song/Music Session in Kent on Wednesdays From: Valmai Goodyear Date: 19 Sep 07 - 05:12 AM Ooh, yes. Come to the Lewes Arms, Mount Place, Lewes BN7 1YH for our monthly free English tunes practice session, the Lewes Favourites. If you would like to play English dance music, here is an opportunity to meet other players to learn and swap tunes regardless of what instrument you play, to what standard, and whether or not you read music. It's a chance to nail down some of those tunes that you recognise when you hear them but can't quite remember, to put the names to familiar tunes, and to play them over slowly until you are sure of them. Printed music and computer software are available for 180 of the Lewes area's favourite tunes. Here's a link to the page: http://members.aol.com/lewesarmsfolk/Lewesfav.html The main Lewes Arms Folk Club website is http://members.aol.com/lewesarmsfolk/ Come along for some Harveys Best Bitter (hurrah!) and good company. All the best, Valmai (Lewes) |

Subject: Song/Music Session in Kent on Wednesdays From: GUEST,Gadaffi Date: 19 Sep 07 - 04:54 AM I'm at a loose end tonight (Wednesday 19th. September), and not in the mood to go to Morris practice. Is there a folk club or music session somewhere in Kent - or East Sussex - where I can go and have a good sing and/or play a few tunes? |
