Just to refresh this, Blind Alfred Reed's version of Miner's Child's Dream, maybe called Fairmont Mine Explosion, has the words

Don't leave me, daddy, please don't go away
Something bad is sure to happen, do not go

I don't suppose that's it?

Here's a description of the video at the Appalshop web site: Strangers and Kin: A History of the Hillbilly Image. I was hoping there'd be some helpful information there, but no luck.

There is a song I heard a snippet of in the 1983 Appalshop documentary, "Strangers & Kin" that goes like this:

Don't leave me daddy
Oh, daddy don't you go
Something better will come along

Does anyone know this song? I could really use to lyrics and the basic chord progression, if possible.

Thanks!
