Dick was on amazing form last night, playing his usual stunning self. The bar/restaurant at the Windsor was absolutely packed out, and when the encore came, the shouts, yells and whoops of delight were enough to persuade Dick to do one more. A stonking night was had by all!

I called in to The Windsor, Pontyclun (home of Llantrisant Folk Club)and Mike the landlord was totally convinced the Dick Gaughan concert was next week! Arranged a hurried phone conference between Mike and Dame Spoons, our oberbooker, compere and treasurer, and everything will be all right - I can safely confirm that Dick will be on stage tonight (Wednesday!) The Arts Council is joining in with their Night Out Scheme, which means that tickets will be no more that £6, and members of the club can see Dick for an amazing £4! It's truly a marvellous bargain!

From what I've read from him in other places, Dick's unwilling to jump through the hoops that my government has set for visiting performers. Whatever the reason - and it may be prudent to not continue this in a thread advertising a gig - I don't really blame him. Two days before terrorists changed everything, and I remember saying, "I just hope Bush doesn't get us into a war." The rest of his tour must have been sheer hell.

I miss the opportunity to see him, so enjoy his concerts when you have the chance.

We had him in concert here in Toledo,Oregon in mid 2000. A fabulous concert and a real fine person........We would have him back anytime.....Frank of Toledo

Last time I saw him was 9/9/01, and I was looking forward to his new not-yet-out CD, Outlaws and Dreamers. I don't think he's been in the US since that tour, and I never got the CD. Oh well. I hope someday he's able and willing to come back.
