Here are several accounts written as classroom assignments by students at West Plains.

I think it was written by Carson Robison, but maybe Stewie or someone else with access to Tony Russell can fill you in on that.

West Plains Explosion as sung by Mrs. Sam "Iva" Haslett, West Plains, Missouri on June 11, 1958; from the Max Hunter Collection.

Recorded by Vernon Dalhart in 1928 (OK 45215), who I'm pretty sure wrote it, but does anyone have any other information on this song?
