One of these fisher poets gave a great presentation at the cowboy poetry gathering last year in elko--at the open mike session. it was a wonderful poem and I am glad to see that there is a festival celebrating fishing and poetry! (not unlike herding cattle, bringing in fish is a great task that helps to feed the masses!)

It should be fun. See if you can come down. They have a website..it mostly seems to go Friday and Saturday with maybe a bit on Sunday. I am just going to get a motel room in Astoria OREGON as I no longer have a car and logistics are too difficult. IF any female would like to share a room I will probably stay at the Riverfront??? which goes for about $45 a night, more with an upgrade.

This is really quite an awesome event...come on up for the weekend. I can't put anybody up because I have two housemates and I make them promise not to have guests...it is about 2 hours from Portland OR. mg
