I have a John Barleycorn version on my mySpace page
http://www.myspace.com/timradford

And if you wait a few minutes, I will put up the lyrics on the page.

Tim Radford

Tim van Eyken does a version of Barleycorn that he got from Fred Jordan using that chorus (give or take a syllable or two). It's recorded on Stiffs Lovers Holymen Thieves.

Is this the version you're looking for: Lyr Req: Barleycorn (Songwainers)?

Mick

Looking for the words to a J. Barleycorn version, set to the tune of 'We plough the fields & scatter'

The chorus I remember goes

'There's beer all in the barrel
And brandy in the glass
But little Sir John with the nut brown bowl
Proved the strongest man at last'

Anyone have the verses, please?
