whatever.. you could still chance getting a few quid for it on ebay
as a "Spairs or Repair Project" item.

if the technician at yamaha was a bloke with a name something like Dusty [Miller ?];
he's been there donkeys years and I'd trust his diagnosis
for better or worse..

but if it was a new young guy straight out of college....

or even worse.. one of the sales / marketing team...........

PS.. this any use ?

My mate Joe who used to manage Energy Orchard had an old 70s French-made analogue FX pedal with a horrid double sided circuit board with chips on both sides. He found a TV engineer somewhere near Edgware (after trying about 20 other places) who fixed it. But the repair cost fas I think £60.

In what way is it bust?

If it's just not lighting up, there's pretty good odds it's the DC input jack. Replace that and you might be on your way again. And have you tried it with a different DC wall-wart? Wires for these things are pretty fragile, or the wall-wart itself might have died.

Or if you're using batteries, the battery clip might be loose or broken, or one of the wires to the battery clip might have bust. Another common problem which can be fixed fairly easily.

Don't throw it away.

Lots of hobbyists would strip it of parts like the jacks, switches, case, battery holder. I know of a few guys who love to rebuild that stuff or reuse the parts. If you sent it to me (for example) I'd gladly hand it over to a young guy who makes effects pedals.

Seriously, PM me if you're interested.

Peace, Mooh.

Well it was relased in 1968, I think it's time for a replacement.

My Yanaha Magic stomp for acoustic has bust. I phoned Yamaha today and they say throw it away and get a new one, as its cheaper than repairing it with us.

I think the circuit board has gone. It seems such a solidly constructed thing to throw away.
