Subject: Origins: At the Fair Lady's Window From: Acorn4 Date: 25 Apr 08 - 06:49 PM I suddenly remembered a song that my grandad used to sing. He lived in East Sussex and died in 1969 and the second half of the first line of the song was "at the fair lady's window". Can remember the tune but can't remember anything else - would love to get hold of the full lyric. I know this is a bit of a longshot but any info would be gratefully received. Come on you folk detectives. Googlesearch and mudcat search reveal nothing on the phrase. |
