Thanks, Barry - I'm mostly looking for places where I might get some small remuneration for singing, to help with costs of the trip, and unfortunately only have about two songs that would be of relevance to a maritime festival! But thanks for the suggestion.

Anne

There's always the Portsmouth Maritime Festival during the last weekend of September, a free event.

The dates are somewhat fudgey at the moment - the conference in NYC is 2 - 5 October, so my guess is that we'd be free to move away from the city after 5th and probably wouldn't stay more than five more days, given the need to return to fretful cat and father in law. OTOH, if we know we're coming then we'll look in more detail at the programme for the conference and may not need to be there for all three days.
Steve will check at work whether there's any possibility of funding and then we'll all know more!

Getaway basic info: click.

For the gory details, put "getaway" in the Mudcat thread filter, set it to 1 year, and you'll have more than enough to read until you get here!

Unfortunately, the Maine contingent will e at the FSGW Getaway. No house concert space. How about heading south to the getaway?

Try http://www.folkproject.org/fp_minstbook.html and www.hurdygurdyfolk.org for 2 folk organizations in Northern NJ near NYC.

This is very tentative at the moment, so bear with me ... my husband has just noticed that there is a conference he could usefully attend in NY (that's the city, not the state) in early October. He might be able to get funding to allow him to go. If he did, I'd love to go with him and maybe do some gigs - the new album might even be ready by then. Is there anyone in the NY area (that's the city AND the state)or nearby New England who might be up for helping me get those gigs? Pretty please?

Anne
