Anyone north of Birmingham, south of Edinburgh you've still got time to get here .... as usual the weather is brilliant.

Just wondering if anyone is planning to join the merry band at the Alison Arms for the free festival this year 6-8 June 2008. The Alison Arms is in Coppull just on the southwest tip of Lancashire 2 miles from jct 27 of the M6 north of Wigan.

Mad Tor Cranberry (thread link) for one enjoyed himself last year with a couple of hundred others. He will be pleased to hear Elvis (the George Papavgeris of the Golden Labrador world) is in fine voice and ready to add his harmonious howl to anybody who's singing he enjoys.

Along with Elvis we have evening concerts with Dave Gibb, Houghton Weavers, His Worship and the Pig, Heather Dale, String Shack and Pete Morton.

Wondering who String Shack are, well Elliot the young fiddler mentioned in the thread on the blue clicky above seems to have a band around him this year and they are called String Shack.

During the afternoon there will be singarounds and workshops and a couple of Open Mics. Into the early hours there is the late night singaround.

Free camping/caravans/motorhome space with toilets and showers. Pub will have food in and promise not to run out except by popular demand. Apologies to real ale fans, this isn't the pub for you, the closest you'll get is a pint of Snecklifter or something out of a bottle.

I'll be there, as one of the organisers I don't really have much choice.
