Subject: RE: Crituque Req: From olddude From: olddude Date: 15 Jul 08 - 05:48 PM one for the road by Dan O'Connell copyright 2008, all rights reserved Walking down these empty streets dirty side of town Nothing in my pockets and theres no one else around I still hear her telling me shes leaving me alone Here's one more for a broken heart, and one more for the road the lonesome highway's calling me and everything is changed all I have is memories, her voice that calls my name Life keeps on changing - so I have been told here's one more for a broken heart, and one more for the road Lying in the soft green grass drunk as I can be waiting for that south bound train, home to carry me my minds and empty space, a pain that ever grows here's one more for a broken heart - and one more for the road Going back to my home town, mountains and the streams back to where I belong, the wind blows through the trees old guitar and backpack, I'll take what life has thrown here's one more for a broken heart, one more for the road |

Subject: RE: Crituque Req: From olddude From: olddude Date: 15 Jul 08 - 04:02 PM Sorcha that was so kind of you thank you. Here is the story, about 14 years ago I broke my neck. Everything works but I lost all feeling in my fingers. They work fine but I can't feel them. I got frustrated and put my guitar away and only occasionaly would pick it up strum and put it back. Then I ran into Bruce on the email, never met him, we talk back and forth. All I kept getting was get off your ARSE and get to work again and again. For 5 months now I have been pounding the guitar and now banjo until my fingers were raw trying to recover something that I lost. Then I made the mistake of telling him I use to write songs .. so then I got .. when are you going to send me a song .. again and again.. hence I started writing again ... Katie's song was the first in quite a long long time .. now I am trying to do a CD for my kids so any comments good or bad are most most welcome. And if my music is really awful -- Blame Bruce !! sorry if I embarrassed you Peace but you created a monster here getting me started again ya know !! Dan |
