It is certainly unusual these days, but the town of Lewes has TWO folk clubs that operate independently at pubs within a couple of hundred yards of one another. * One on THURSDAYS at the Royal Oak in Station Street, Lewes * One on SATURDAYS at the Lewes Arms in Mount Place, Lewes The clubs work closely in harmony (musically and socially!) with one another but both have seen confusion arriving when artists/agents/listing magazines/email circulars etc. have announced a gig as being at "LEWES FOLK CLUB".
