Subject: RE: What is the title of this Irish song ? From: MartinRyan Date: 30 Sep 08 - 05:49 AM While it's very much in the Percy French manner, the composer appears to have been one Arthur Lochhead: Click here . Haven't made a serious search for the sheet music. Regards |

Subject: RE: What is the title of this Irish song ? From: GUEST Date: 29 Sep 08 - 10:53 AM Nice one. I had forgotten Willie Brady but I do remember seeing his act in a kind of touring variety concert in the 1950s. His style is quite similar to fine the English 'troubador' Elton Hayes; a contemporary. |

Subject: RE: What is the title of this Irish song ? From: GUEST,Murphy Date: 29 Sep 08 - 07:25 AM I vaguely remember Brenda O'Dowda singing "The pride of Tipperary". This could be the title you are looking for. Check out Brendan singing "La Golandrina" on Youtube - Excellent. |

Subject: What is the title of this Irish song ? From: Murray MacLeod Date: 29 Sep 08 - 03:01 AM It's sung on Youtube by 90 year old Leo Dougherty. The poster has it as "Phil the Fluters Ball", but it certainly isn't PTFB, although it does sound as though it could have come from the pen of Percy French. |
