Subject: RE: Ryans & The Pitmans, Why This Title? From: meself Date: 18 Oct 08 - 09:10 PM Well - the narrator tells us he is called 'Bob Pittman' - which, of course, does not explain the title - but it is mention of a Pittman! That is the usual name of the Newfoundland song, anyway ... |

Subject: Ryans & The Pitmans, Why This Title? From: Nick E Date: 18 Oct 08 - 09:05 PM On the CD Ryan's Fancy, Songs From The Show there is a song titled as above, the tune is alternately known as Rant & Roar, Yankee Whalermen, Ladies of Spain and I would not be surprised if a few more. What I can not figure for the life of me is why this title for this version? The song mentions neither Ryans nor Pitmans. Any Ideas? |
