Subject: RE: Unknown Ulster Loyalist Song From: alison Date: 16 Jun 99 - 02:21 AM Hi, It is the Billy boys, (one of the versions) you can find it at Ulster Orange/ Unionist Loyalist songbook along with a lot more of the same. the rest of the chorus is
surrender or you'll die Sung to the tune of "Marching through Georgia". According to the notes at the link above you "continue to sing the chorus until you are arrested." Slainte alison |

Subject: RE: Unknown Ulster Loyalist Song From: Stirling Date: 15 Jun 99 - 01:49 PM I suspect this may be the song that an old Glasgow Rangers song my dad used to sing was based upon. Parts of it never made sense to me...like why the Rangers would go to Dublin... There's not a team like the Glasgow Rangers No not one, No not one Celtic know all about their troubles We will fight til the day is done There's not a team like the Glasgow Rangers No not one, No not one (Can't remember this line) If they go to Dublin we will follow on |

Subject: Unknown Ulster Loyalist Song From: Dermot Date: 15 Jun 99 - 11:58 AM There is a song, hugely popular in Scotland and Northern Ireland, whose name tune and lyrics are mostly unknown to me. Despite a lot of searching, it's impossible to find on this or any other database. This is silly, because, while it is certainly a sectarian tune, there's no point pretending it doesn't exist. Political correctness is useless here The lyrics have a chorus involving "up to our necks in fenian blood". It is said to be called "Follow ,Follow". I'd really like to know the lyrics. If you're willing to help, please send them to diarm76@hotmail.com . These lyrics are an important insight into loyalist hatred and, like Mein Kampf, must not be suppressed |
