Subject: RE: My world tour 2010 ? From: Barry Finn Date: 09 Feb 09 - 08:29 AM Well there you go. Oct or March, that's a start. The Getaway is very early in Oct but it's a little late for the festival season & March is a bit early unless your in the warmer southern areas. Depending on where you're planning to travel early March & late Oct can be cold & snowy. You might want to rethink your timing if it's more of a festival trip you're planning to come during the more seasonal or friendly months. On the other hand if you're not bent on festivals there's music that can be found anywhere & at anytime. Just say when & where . If the title's a bit misleading ask a clone/elf or Joe Offer to retitle for you, they're an easy enough & willing bunch Barry |
Subject: RE: My world tour 2010 ? From: Fidjit Date: 09 Feb 09 - 05:11 AM Thanks Barry I have checked out the Dirty Linen site and noted several things, but as it's still along way off I'm taking my time to see what pops up this year. Yeah the title might be miss leading, but it's out there now. Also I'm so busy over here with different projects that I only have a window in October or March April at the moment. Anyway Cheers Barry Chas |
Subject: RE: My world tour 2010 ? From: Barry Finn Date: 08 Feb 09 - 05:58 PM Hi Chas, I saw your post through a different thread, I never caught this on, I skipped it by for some reason. Dirty Linen is probably the best site for US/Canada fests. If you're planning hitting the Northeast US. There's the Getaway in early Oct, the Portsmouth Maritime fest late Sept (you can combine those. There the Mystic Seaport Maritime Music fest on June 10 -14. There's the Old Songs Fest June 26 - 28, again you could combine. You thread title may have missed the attention of us here in North America, it' wasn't very specific & looks as if you were performing on tour & advertising instead of asking about planning traveling plans. Maybe a retitle would help uyou out more. You'd be more than welcome though if you plan on New England. I looked for some site that would be inclusive of US folk festivals but aside from Dirty Linen nothing very helpful came up. Maybe others have found somthing better but I can't. To me it looked like you have to go to individual festival sites. Good luck Chaz Barry |
Subject: RE: My world tour 2010 ? From: Fidjit Date: 07 Jan 09 - 10:50 AM Unlike Richard Bridges Daughters tour,I'm concerning myself to the North America / Canada area. Have to get over the golf season here in Sweden before I can make any moves. Season ends very early October. Starts again early May. I think October and April would be OK temperature wise. Probably Autumn in the Madison Counties area wold be good. What of November to March ? Chas |
Subject: RE: My world tour 2010 ? From: Fidjit Date: 06 Jan 09 - 03:36 AM couple of Canadian ones on there too Chas |

Subject: RE: My world tour 2010 ? From: Fidjit Date: 02 Jan 09 - 04:04 AM Well thank you Sandra, Ross, Robyn, Kat and Gurney. That helped. Shall get the maps out and do some homework. Yes Gurney I know about the upside down bit. Have many preconceptions of all things across the pond. Would prefer to arrive by ship A La Pilgrim Fathers. Would I have to then bring shiny objects with me for the natives? (These days in the shape of cd's) They can at least hang them from the bushes and trees to scare the evil spirit's away. (i.e. other people like me) Chas |
Subject: RE: My world tour 2010 ? From: Gurney Date: 02 Jan 09 - 01:32 AM Try to be in Auckland NZ at the end of January, the Auckland Folk Music Festival. Robyn and I will see you there. Don't forget that the seasons are reversed in the southern hemisphere, so that you can have a tour that goes: Spring, Summer, Autumn/Spring, Summer, Autumn/Spring, Summer, etc. etc. All you need is enough money! |
Subject: RE: My world tour 2010 ? From: katlaughing Date: 01 Jan 09 - 08:34 PM If you consider the Getaway, you'd meet a lot of Mudcatters from the US, some Canadians, from the UK and elsewhere. It's next Oct 02, 2009 through Oct 05. Put on by These Folks some of whom are Mudcatters. Sounds like fun! |
