Today BBC Radio 7 broadcast 'Thistlewood', a play about the events leading to and following the Peterloo massacre. It includes a fair amount of traditional song related to the events. I found it both informative and enjoyable. The blurb says: "Influenced by Peterloo, a group of radicals conspire to assassinate the government. Stewart Conn's historical drama from 1976." It is 90 minutes long (the website says 30 mins, wrongly) and is broadcast again 1 3/4 hours from now on BBC7. You can also listen again here for the next 7 days.
