I saw a picture today of Farrah Fawcett from her high school yearbook...before the designer hairdos and the big career. I see a beauty in her there that for me eclipses what she later became. It's a much more natural beauty, not yet calculated by some money-making industry. It made me feel sad for how the innocence of youth gets lost in people...not that I know if this is accurate in regards to Farrah Fawcett herself or not...it just struck me as a kind of timeless archetype that could well apply to any of us.

I'm not myself deeply moved by the passing of either MJ or Farrah, but I do wish them both well.

Funny really. I was left utterly unmoved by Jacksons demise, yet Farrah's death plunged me right back into my own life as a child - watching telly as a kid. Remembrance of times past and all that.

I'm also saddened but I hope she's at peace. I'd like to add that I have a new respect for Ryan O'Neal. I always heard he was kind of a jerk, but the compassion he showed in caring for her these last several months has shown him in a different light. Cynics might say he was playing to the cameras, but I think he genuinely cared for her and behaved admirably. I might be wrong but I sincerely hope I'm not.
