Subject: RE: Lyr Req: From Daylight to Starlight From: Newport Boy Date: 05 Oct 09 - 04:50 AM No - it's reality. I've spent the weekend digging down to 6 buried manholes on the soakaway - and now the jetting team are late, damn them! I should have time for the tune later. Phil |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: From Daylight to Starlight From: Newport Boy Date: 02 Oct 09 - 03:35 PM I have the tune - I've been singing this for 30 years. I don't have it written down, but I will do it early next week. I have to dig up my sewage soakaway this weekend! Phil |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: From Daylight to Starlight From: Marje Date: 02 Oct 09 - 06:04 AM To find it, I searched for a phrase from the chorus - I think it was "but to reap and bind" - which I knew would bring it up if it was in there. Thanks for reminding me about it, it's a song I've heard but never got round to learning. But I can't help you with the missing bit of tune because that's exactly the bit I can't remember. I'll watch this thread now and see if anything emerges. Marje |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: From Daylight to Starlight From: Sean Mc Date: 02 Oct 09 - 05:29 AM Many thanks Marje. When I did my initial search here it came to nothing - not sure why. I also now need to review what I think I know about the tune. Though this is almost definately the song I am not sure about the melody for the second half of the verse - unless it is just repeated. More digging needed. Thanks again, Sean |

Subject: Lyr Req: From Daylight to Starlight From: Sean Mc Date: 01 Oct 09 - 05:44 AM I am looking for the lyrics of a song that I heard 25 - 30 years ago. I believe it was written by a chap in the Torbay area - but that is not definite. I only have a few scraps of the chorus but I remember the tune (or so I think). From daylight, to starlight, in the noisy heat of June, Dum dum dee dum . . . . . . . . . of the moon. Can anyone help? Thanks, Sean |
