tsk...never knew there was a problem...a friend of mine had used IRCLE for a long time, and does just fine in IRC..hope this get more of us onboard..

Thought this might be more of an alert as a new thread. Mac people have had trouble with the Java chat software since day one. The Cool Frozen Trout thread has instructions by Tony Burns (thanks Tony) for using MIRC to get in. There is a stripped equivalent for MACs (doesn't have to be a Power Mac, but you need System 7 or over) called IRCLE which can be found at www.ircle.com. Tony's instructions are fairly close to what is needed for the Mac, though you have to be careful with the different locations of the Username, and so on. I have not been able to make any of the frills and extras work, but can finally get on-line. Had a nice conversation with Margarita.
