Whatever problems CIUT is having seem to be epidemic. CKUA, Alberta, has been having complaints since the advent of new management some months ago. They were airing their problems on their message board, but those messages have been archived.

Closer to home (California) we are having two problems. The trustees of KPCC, Pasadena College radio station, are unsure how to handle the license, and the station is in turmoil. And many of you know about the sit-ins at KPFA, No. California's Pacifica station; the irony is that Pacifica is a Progressive organization. Rick's characterization of the CIUT problem fits very well in these cases.

The loser in these squabbles is the audience.

I'd love to give you my take on the political situation that spawned the financial crisis, but it almost makes me physically ill to think about it. Words like hypocracy, greed, and blind ambition come to mind.

There is both a political and financial crisis going on at CIUT because it is basically supported by the University of Toronto, and it is considering or may even have already decided to pull its funding out (Rick can give you the inside dope).

For last 3 weeks (at least 2) this verdammte radio station has not worked when the Fielding frolics have been on...but tonight it is loud and clear and playing Moody Blues, I think. Go figger!---John
