Subject: NWLeicestershire Quarter sessions From: MBSLynne Date: 18 Jun 10 - 05:04 PM Well things are beginning to look hopeful again. The last time I posted (I think) was to say that the miserable landlord of "The Turk's Head" had said we couldn't do them any more because the December 2008 session didn't have enough people. Well the landlord drove so many customers away that he ended up going bankrupt and the pub has been closed for 12 months. Someone has now bought it and are refurbishing it (Not too drastically I hope) and are hoping to open in late July/early August. They are advertising it as a "Traditional English pub serving real ales and home made food even the chips)". They haven't mentioned cider yet but we will be down there as soon as they open, or possibly sooner to persuade them they need to have real cider too. They've changed the name of the pub for some reason and it will be called "The Halfway House" Let's hope they are up for sessions again Love Lynne |
