Right! I have a cable for the phone to the computer; I usually use it only when I want to save the photos in the phone. I'll have to see if I can use the phone as modem; I think it has that setting. I'd forgotten about that. If there was a regular phone here then I could plug the computer in to use in lieu of a fax (there is a Windows application), so maybe the cell phone will work the same way.

Either a Bluetooth USB dongle, or better still a USB cable if the phone supports it. Any basic scanner will do for sending, and some will work via USB without the need for a power plug.

I have an up to date HP (PC) computer using Win7 Ultimate. I don't have a blutooth attachment on the computer, but the phone has that capability.

I know I'm not the first here who converted my home phone from the wired type to the cellular type. But I have an old fax machine that can't send anything now because it only connects to the wall.

Is there such a thing as a fax machine with a docking station for a cell phone, so you can send faxes that way? I haven't had any luck searching for one, but maybe I'm not calling it the right thing. My keywords aren't specific enough.

I'm in the US, and I use Sprint, it that helps at all.
