I have a certain amount of difficulty visualising Arthur Balfour, his girlfriend, H G Wells and Percy Grainger turning up at a workhouse in Winchcombe to collect folk songs......."What's that little chap with the moustache goin' to do then Mr. Grainger?" "Oh don't worry, he's just here to whip me into shape if I get the needle in the wrong place!"

BBC Radio 3 is running a short programme about Percy Grainger every day this week, including one on folksong
because it's 50 years since he died. Coincidentally (?)Friday's programme is followed by World on 3, which features a studio session with Jackie Oates....

Was this recorded and uploaded to the Internet, maybe to Archive.org ?Would be a good idea if anyone taped it. Also C#H Library might like a copy, and the BL Sound Archives too.

It can be heard on FM radio in the vicinity of Winchcombe on 87.7 and on the Internet.
