Hi, folks - after a long absence, I'm back with a request for some equipment advice. My mother would like to hook up her Yamaha PSR 510 keyboard to her iMac tangerine (Yecchh! What was wrong with basic grey?) in order to use a home piano-teaching software package. Both her USB ports are currently in use, so she needs to add extra ports and get some sort of interface that will translate the Yamaha's MIDI (she says it is "general MIDI format", whatever that means) for her computer. I know that there were several different MIDI formats floating around for awhile before someone decided on a universal standard, but don't know which incarnation this model of Yamaha uses. Can some of you more technically inclined souls out there give us some recommendations for USB hubs and MIDI interfaces that might work, and where a retired lady in Minnesota might purchase them? Thanks!

PS - My return is due to the failure of my 12-step program to cure Mudcat Addiction. Here I am at work again, on your tax dollars, typing messages into the discussion line just like Old Times. Aarrrggh! I blame Sandy and Kathy W. as my enablers...
