I came across this story in my local paper in France and couldn't resist blogging on it.

Essentially, Jimi's newly formed Experience was supporting Johnny Hallyday in France in 1966. Johnny fan wants autograph on the sleeve of his new single, looks in the usual post-gig haunt of musicians and finds "only" Hendrix and entourage, all of whom sign. Jimi wanted a kiss in return but was deemed too spotty by la jeune francaise.

The idea of Jimi signing a Johnny Hallyday record appealed so much to the acknowledged French expert on all things Hendrix that he arranged for Johnny to sign it , too, on TV last night, 45 years on.
