In Thought for the Day (Sept 24) it appears that concerning Possum Voice Etiquette, the current score is Possum 0, CBS 1.

Oh, and the other risk in throwing your banjo at them is that they might throw it back!

If you want to 'mute' someone playing 'possum' you must like things dead quiet during performance. Its one way to avoid annoying interuptions. *BG*

I'm sorry, I thought the posting was Marsupial etiquette, please forgive me. It seems when I'm on stage the audience often plays possum (no, not plays a possum ~ simply plays possum). At times like this I feel like throwing my banjo at them ~ of course that would be assault with a deadly weapon. Sometimes I wonder just how many musical possums are out there???? Are they trying to tell me something??? Why are they always out of tune?? Can you mute a possum?

Cap't Bob

Are we talking 'Spaw's voice here? Judging from his own comments, my vote is for Cleigh... guess I'll get a chance to decide for sure at the Getaway.

Cleigh says he doen't like hearing possum and flush in the same sentence. I'll try to explain it to him and get back to you.

Three possums will beat a flush but a mudcat beats both.

While we're on the subject, what's a better hand, a 3 possums or a flush?

Dr. John, This is indeed an in-joke. The Possum in question is the companion or our own Catspaw.

no question. the performer on stage should always defer to the possum, unless of course the possum is carrying a pink flamingo.
