Yes I can confirm and remember John Brunner and his wife Audrey at the South Petherton Folk Festival back in the seventies. I was on the the committee for the said event and have very many happy memories. He also for a long time use to live in South Petherton.

The festival was actually held in the Brunners' large garden, and then later in the evening in a hall in the town.

John was one of my greatest friends ~~ we shared a Hampstead flat before my marriage, and I was his best man when he married Marjorie. I sang at that first S Petherton Festival. They had moved there some time in the 70s, and that festival occurred quite soon after. I am not sure of the exact year, but it would have been mid-late 70s, I am pretty sure.

Yes, John and his Mrs. were among the organisers of the South Petherton Folk Festival. As I recall Dev Deverill was involved as well as others.

I was talking to a fellow musician about Stand on Zanzibar and told him I recalled going to Folk festivals organized by John Brunner. Does any one remember the years and location . South Petherton may have been the location , it was somewhere close to Yeovil.
