Subject: RE: Live Old-Time on the Internet 10/16 From: GutBucketeer Date: 29 Sep 99 - 10:42 PM I will ask about archiving, but I'm pretty sure they don't have the capability. On the other hand check the schedule. There is greater than a 50/50 chance that they will be broadcasting acoustic music anytime you tune in. Stew's show on Saturdays is always excellent. JAB |

Subject: Live Old-Time on the Internet 10/16 From: GutBucketeer Date: 28 Sep 99 - 11:19 PM This is a re-post from the Cyberpluckers e-mail list. I thought it would interest a number of Mudcatters. Those Cyberpluckers who love old time music should tune into WMMT on the internet (http://www.broadcast.com/radio/public/wmmt/) Saturday, October 16, from noon to 2:30 EDT for the 4th Annual Open House, Jam and Live Broadcast. They will feature Old Time Mountain Music by Robert Tincher & Art Mize (celtic), the Not Brothers (Hot WV flatpicking. I've played with them. They COOK), Bo Hughes & Friends (Oldtime string band, VA style) and Myni Mohr. A Jam at Appalshop in Whitesburg follows, and if you're nearby, come on by. The days of live radio are long gone, but Appalshop keeps the tradition alive. You'll hear just what happens, warts and all, and it is a real experience. There is NOTHING, short of a myocardial infarction, that focuses your attention with greater clarity than the knowledge that the mistake you just made was heard live in five states and all over the world by internet. Believe me! I've made more'n a couple! Couldn't say who's emceeing. I'm sure he's entertaining, though. Fat, bald, entertaining, and plays an autoharp (RAR).... STEW JAB |
