Subject: Tune Req: Tune for a Fenian Lullaby From: GUEST,Seumas MacRaith Date: 15 Jun 12 - 09:04 AM Hello all, Just came across a beautiful lullaby in J.G. Campbell's 'Waifs and Stays of Celtic Tradition. Here's the verses; Mo mhire bhog bhinn thu, Siol Cholla 's Chuinn thu, Mo mhire bhog bhinn thu, Siol a chinne Chuinn thu. Mo mhire bhog, mo luachair bhog, Mo chreamh an creig, Mar bhi an sian th'ar do chois, Gu'n togamaid leinn thu. Siol Cholla is Chuinn thu, Mo mhire bhog bhinn thu, Mo mhire bhog, Mo ghlùn a thog, Mar bhi an losgadh th' air do chois, Gu'n togamaid leinn thu. There's no tune with it but the author notes 'it's weird and beautiful music, resembling the wild night-wind about the house or in neighbouring trees' Does anyone know the tune for it? |
