Subject: RE: **BG** From: Judy Cook Date: 21 Oct 99 - 02:22 PM Thanks Rick! I still get really excited at the thought of folks playing my CD on the radio - I've yet to hear it personally (well, I've hear the CD, but not on the radio).**BG**. |
Subject: RE: **BG** From: Rick Fielding Date: 21 Oct 99 - 12:02 PM Welcome Judy. You'll find you have to give up something in your daily existance to make room for mudcatting. I've eliminated vacuuming, washing the car, that extra cup of coffee, and Frazier re-runs. My life is much fuller now. I'll be playing a couple of cuts from your album on next weeks show. Still enjoying it. Rick |

Subject: RE: **BG** From: catspaw49 Date: 21 Oct 99 - 10:16 AM These double postings prove you are in fact losing it Peter. Don't read anymore of those stupid magazine ads and restring the heron's little Telecaster with the new set that Cleigh O'Possuum sent him the other day. It'll help relax you. Spaw |

Subject: RE: **BG** From: katlaughing Date: 20 Oct 99 - 06:58 PM So, Kath, does that mean you are a recovering lurker? **BG** |
Subject: RE: **BG** From: KathWestra Date: 20 Oct 99 - 06:01 PM Hey Judy, welcome to the land of the no-longer-lurking. I gave up my lurker status a couple of months ago, and have been publicly having a good time here ever since! *BG* There's a separate thread around here somewhere on NOMAD, and Dan Milner has assembled a good "calendar" of Mudcat-led events. Sounds from looking at it like we'll be very well represented. Kath |

Subject: RE: **BG** From: Judy Cook Date: 19 Oct 99 - 10:37 PM It does feel good to be welcomed! Joan, Yes I am the lucky one to lead the Sunday morning sing at NOMAD. We will all miss you, at the sing, at NOMAD, in the spaces around NOMAD. NOMAD, by the way is NOrtheast Music Art & Dance, an all volunteer festival in Sandy Hook, CT. This year it's November 5-7. I know at least 4 mudcatters besides me who will be there. Who else? (Should that question be on a different thread?) I'm glad to know there's a thread on acronyms, and to know what LOL is. I find it's good for the digestion. -- Judy |
Subject: RE: **BG** From: Little Neophyte Date: 19 Oct 99 - 10:03 PM Hi Judy, I'm new too, and when I first joined I started a thread 'Terminology dictionary for new comers' (In those days I didn't know how to spell newcomers) Lots of good Mudcat Lingo starter tips in that thread. If you can't find it in the Search, just click on the my name (blue clicky) above, and you will find that thread is my First Baby Posting Great bunch here, treat ya just like family they do. Subject: RE: **BG** From: Joan Sprung Date: 19 Oct 99 - 09:27 PM Hi, Judy!! So what IS BG? Brb, yes. LOL, all the time. Don't know BG. Will miss all you DC folk at NOMAD, even though I got pressed into programming duty again checking out the tentative grids. Sadly, someone else will have the fun of leading the Sing for Sunday morning. You, maybe? Any other Mudcats going? j |

Subject: RE: **BG** From: Art Thieme Date: 19 Oct 99 - 08:19 PM Judy, Hello! Good folks here almost all the time. Sometimes we even talk about music. Give my regards to folks back East. Art Thieme |
Subject: RE: **BG** From: katlaughing Date: 19 Oct 99 - 08:05 PM Judy, Welcome to the Mudcat. You did the right thing in asking. If there is anything you need to know or don't understand just ask, either in a thread, or in a private message to one of us. We had a thread on acronyms, I think it was in Sept. I'll go hunt it down and rbing it back for you and others who may be wondering. Here's a more elaborate version of LOL: LMAWROTF=Laughing My Arse Off WHile Rolling On The Floor Keep that **BG**; ya look bee-you-tee-full! katlaughing |
Subject: RE: **BG** From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 19 Oct 99 - 07:45 PM LOL="Laughing Out Loud", traditionally. Malcolm |
Subject: **BG** From: Judy Cook Date: 19 Oct 99 - 07:37 PM I found out what **BG** stands for and I have one on my face to find myself among such jovial, kind company. I'm also humbled by the depth and breadth of knowledge here. None of this comes as a surprise to me; plenty of friends have told me so. Since the Getaway I have been reading some of the postings and finally registered, posted my first thread, and was delighted by the responses. I guess I'll slowly learn the ropes and what more of the abbreviations stand for. For instance, I thought I understood what LOL meant - but now I'm not sure... Lots of Love? Luck? Laughter? or does it depend on context? -- Judy Cook |
