You must have seen my Christmas list...As no-one knows what to give me I hold back on the books and recordings I'd otherwise have bought myself until after Christmas. As they are inevitable difficult to obtain I usually end up buying them myself any way and my friends and relatives resort to buying me bottles, which I force myself to drink: well, it's only polite. Needless to say several works by 'Catters are on my list (building up my folk collection now my wife reckons we have every essential jazz & blues recording ever made). RtS

Hello everyone,

I'd like to issue a challenge to all of you music lovers ........to consider purchasing music for Christmas gifts by local and independent artists! I think we all could benefit from this.

I'd also be interested to know what artists you may have already purchased or will be purchasing and how the rest of us could get info on these artists.

I myself have just purchased 2 CD's by local artists in Toronto for gifts.....Norm Hacking's THE ACHE and Ron Nigrini's CD (on order...so I'll have to get back to you about the title).

I'm looking forward to finding out about new artists!

Laura
