And I'd been staring at the borders all morning :( Thanks. Should we call it west centrallish bordering Staffordshire? Mudelves might change it to 'West'? It is places like Ashbourne that surprise me. I think Keith Kendrick tried to get a club going there but Derby ended up being more fertile ground. |

Subject: RE: ?Folk in South Derbyshire?A50/A52/A515 From: GUEST Date: 11 May 16 - 09:42 AM A515 Ashbourne to Buxton is South Derbyshire??? With all due respect, I suggest you spend a little more time consulting a map. Also, if you've ever travelled much on that fine Roman road, you'll have noticed that there aren't any large settlements, which probably explains the dearth of 'folky things' Apologies for not being more constructive. |

Subject: ?Folk in South Derbyshire? A50/A52/A515 From: FreddyHeadey Date: 11 May 16 - 09:27 AM A question for people in Derbyshire, UK. With a couple of noteable exceptions there is a patch of South Derbyshire (Derby-Ashbourne-Buxton,A50 / A52 / A515)which seems to have a lack of folky things going on whilst the area round about has plenty. Are they secret? Maybe it is because the population is spread out here? Maybe the locals have more important things to do? Have you any local knowledge or constructive suggestions? I've found things in Derby & Buxton, it is the area between I'm interested in. Here is a link to a map showing where I mean, including the exceptions of Alstonefield : Any folk here? Ashbourne,A50 / A52 / A515 ~~~~~~~~~~~ Similar q 2012... G-Force - 12 Jul 2012 thread.cfm?threadid=145864 one answer was "Everything I know about is a good 45 minutes or more north of Ashbourne,..." |
