Just about the first song I ever learned to play on guitar was Tiritomba. The version that I learnt (in Australia) had English lyrics that started with something like "In the corner of a sun drenched village there's a girl who sings a song". The second verse started with "He was not so very rich or handsome, nor was he among the wise". I can't find this version anywhere on the net. Can anyone help, perhaps from an old (50s/60s) song book?
