Sorry Bill and mbo.. I'm English and tend to use the English language in the manner to which it was formed.. I don't use words like "cool" other than meaning of a lower temperature than is the norm.. so when I say I "awesome" , I mean what the word says... i.e. simply the best ever (ok.. my definition)..
So where are the sponsors we need to get this gig underway?

Oh, Bill, I understand completely! My Communications Class teacher used to talk about how people today use "awesome" as a generic term. As he said "They say 'Man, this hamburger is really awesome!' But when they see something that really warrants the use of such a powerful word like 'awesome,' they won't have anything to say." S'truth.

*grin*...my 'tsk' was not about bands...I often 'like' bands of certain types..(like the *early* Battlefield Band...before the high-octane upgrades)...but about language. You shold hear me tease kids about rating 99% of the Universe as either "cool" or "gross".....'awesome' is simply a buzz word these days that conveys very little to me, as I do not get out in groups where I can detect the subtle nuances and layers of meaning in a social context.......*what*?? what's he babbling about now? 'nuances...social context'?....ahhh, never mind- I guess the pressure of the season are making me grumpy..

I saw a warmup of this band at the FSGW Getaway weekend. It was only a small bunch of 'Catters, but if it is representative of the talent here, we are in some pretty tall corn. Count me in Mick..........in fact, you, Mick Bracken (where the hell has he been lately?), and I could do something, eh? The T'ree Micks?

No drugs here, 'Spaw. It's true! In the dream we were all singing "Don't Walk Away," which, incidentally is my favorite ELO song, and also my community college's economics teacher was there in the class for some reason singing too. HEY BILL, to me "awesome" IS a word I use for bands. I like bands 100 times better than single people. It's so harmonious, ya know.

Well, I'd say we would be the greatest band ever (or rather a tie with ELO, eh Mick?). What would we sing? OOOHHH! I get goose bumps all over thinking about all of us playing and singing "Wild Mountain Thyme." Sorta like that weird dream I had where me and my whole Psychology class were singing ELO songs...

Having just posted my Christmas wish thread.. aka All I want for Christmas etc... a thought has suddenly struck me.. i.e. regarding the world's most awesome band/group/whatever..
Forget all those so called super groups of the late 70's/ early 80's.. cast aside all the mega benefit sessions in aid of whatever charity/good cause of the late 80's and 90's..
THE ultimate band of all time is yet to come together.. all we need is some mega rich benefactor to sponsor the event .. the event that will get all the musicians/singers here on the mudcat together for the ultimate concert of all time, let alone the century/millenium.. what a mind blowing concept that would be.. all we need is someone to construct a stage big enough to hold the "band" which would probably be bigger than the space for the audience.. but who needs an audience, it would be the greatest ever jamming session in the history of the universe, providing we all knew just the one tune/song that is.. LOL
I shouldn't like to be the one to organise it though.. the logistics is mind blowing.. though the "idea" has me "wondering".. what would it be like.... to say the least it would be an amazing exprience.. it would make Woodstock seem like a couple of buskers on the street corner..
Perhaps one day...
