Friday Sallyport have arranged a Pit village coach trip to visit the pits from which the dances came.and to sample thelocal brews.The coach is leaving a "venue" near central station at12.30 with return to Newcastle around 5.30.Tickets are £15 -£20 and are bookable at the Dert2019 website

And my next camping expedition will be The Dancing England Rapper Tournament (DERT) which this year is being held in Newcastle upon Tyne. It kicks off on Friday 5th April but the real fun starts on Saturday (6th), in lots of pubs around the city, where each team dances, in front of (usually) two judges, and may the best team win!
Take a look at their website "Dert 2019" to see a list of pubs where they can all be seen, the Cluny and Cumberland Arms being just two which I can remember!
This really is a great day out, spending time in several pubs with plenty of fun and atmosphere, and when it all finishes, (4pm ish), there are lots of places to go and relax and enjoy a meal.
