I remember hearing a version of Frankie and Johnnie with the line "hold me back" and I think it was in a film clip, maybe in a documentary. Anyway, it was high energy and hot in a way that I don't think was in style until the 50s or later. It wasn't in the Elvis movie or the later Mae West version, or any of the others I've found.
I have found a version with that lyric as I remember it, but it's a version by Michelle Shocked, band I'm quite sure it wasn't her that I'm remembering. Also, oddly, her version, which was on her album Arkansas Traveler, doesn't seem to be available anyway.
ring any bells? I think I probably saw it on a music or Hollywood history documentary on vhs.
