Subject: RE: Italy sings tonight six pm From: Steve Shaw Date: 13 Mar 20 - 07:01 PM We went to an amazing ItalIan restaurant in Bath last night (Sotto Sotto). As we were there right at the end of the evening we were able to chat to some of the staff, two chaps from Perugia and one from Napoli. They can't go home to visit their folks and their folks can't come here. Their distress was palpable. The uncertainty about the future for millions of people is one of the most poignant features of our present predicament. Awful. |

Subject: RE: Italy sings tonight six pm From: Helen Date: 13 Mar 20 - 02:17 PM I like that idea, mg. The whole article is worth reading about the community spirit and the use of music to bring people together and raise their hopes and also fundraising for a local hospital. "More singalongs are expected on Friday night, and a a 'musical flashmob' has even been advertised in Rome." .......... "An appeal has also been circulated on WhatsApp groups calling on Italians to play instruments at their windows at 6pm on Friday. " 'For those few minutes, our country will become a huge free concert!' the message said." |
