Telling us about new music is more than fine with me. But the poster expecting me to do their homework is another thing.

It's the same when someone dumps just a link in the favourite youtube performaces thread, without saying a word about which artist or song it is, why it is the poster's favourite, and why it might be interesting for us.

I may be bored enough sometimes to follow such links. But usually I have enough other stuff to do so why should I?

I had some technical problems typing above post on my Tablet.

Spacing got messed up between paragraphs. Please excuse the lengthy spacing - not done intentionally. ??

I don't have a problem with someone
posting a link to review, to hear a singer, duo or band.
We don't have magazines like "Froots", "Dirty Linen" and other folk acoustic magazines anymore. I welcome hearing about these artists I would have never come to know about otherwise. I will go and have a listen, and I may not care for their music but at least this way I can find out about them.
I have sometimes found out about some obscure or not very well
Known artists this way and really enjoyed hearing them.
Have bought CD's of an artist/band who I came to know from
someone mentioning them through a post like this.

Sure, I won't care or get into some stuff I hear but on the other
hand, I have been amazed by artists who I was not familiar with before.

You're absolutely right, Reinhard.
It does get wearisome when folks create a new thread with the word Review when the content is no more than a blatant plug (however worthy, it does not constitute a review!).

Huh? How is that a review? They *may* be nice but pray tell me *why* should I listen to this duo?
