OK, one of those middle-of-the-night reminiscences that winds up driving you crazy: In the 1970s, there was a band called the Putnam String County Band, whose members included Jay Ungar and Lyn Hardy. One of their signature songs was "The Answer to the Question," which I think was written by Lyn, the chorus of which went in part:

"The answer to the question is
The question is the answer to..."

It was a lovely, small-bits-of-wisdom-imparted type of thing, and I hadn't thought about it in years. Anyone know the full lyrics?
