Subject: RE: BBC Scotland 'Travelling Folk' off-airs From: GUEST,CJB666 Date: 23 Sep 20 - 06:15 PM These are the folk prgrammes that the Beeb couldn't be ar$ed to archive. Like Folkweave, Folk on 2, Folk '76 (etc.), even the peioneering London FolkSong celar, Cellar Full of Folk, Country Meets Folk, etc., etc. etc., the Beeb categoricaly failed to archive anything. Did they Archive Mike Harding - no. What about Mark Radcliffe - no. This was even more acute for early folk programmes such as Music of the People, The Song Carriers, Ballad / Song Hunter, A-Roving, etc., - no. And as for regional folk progammes even now they are not archived. But we do have some Travelling Folks. I'll lok in our archives. |

Subject: BBC Scotland 'Travelling Folk' off-airs From: GUEST Date: 23 Sep 20 - 06:46 AM A subset of my Bert Jansch BBC off-airs request - because I have a feeling more here may have collections of the BBC Scotland show on tape. I found out yesterday that a 16/12/04 edition of the 'Travelling Folk' show that featured a Bert concert was not extant at source (although the BBC database initially indicated that it was). I can't believe that no one in Scotland recorded this off-air at the time. Anyone here? |
