Subject: RE: The Shires (UK Country) From: Backwoodsman Date: 29 Dec 21 - 07:28 AM They do have a very authentic Alt-Country sound, Dave. Very listenable to this Brit, although I’m not sure they would hold up for the US-ian Country die-hards. They remind me of Lady Antebellum (whom I love) but not as ‘Rocky’. They’ll do for me but, like you, I’m interested to hear what the US contingent make of them - I guess it’s a ‘Can Brits sing/play Country?’ Question, not unlike ‘Can white men sing/play the Blues?’? |

Subject: The Shires (UK Country) From: Dave the Gnome Date: 29 Dec 21 - 04:16 AM I got The Shires Greatest Hits for Christmas. I had heard a couple of their tracks on radio and thought they were worth a listen. They certainly are! (If you like country music that is) Hard to believe that they are not from the US. Before anyone goes on one about the UK having their own traditions, yes, I know. I have room for more than one kind of music in my life :-) Do any USA-ians know them and, if so, whatcher think? |
