Subject: RE: Lyr Req: I Want to Stay Here From: Jo Taylor Date: 16 Jan 00 - 06:46 PM Sorcha - Thank you so much, he'll stop bothering me now! To get line breaks, put the letters BR inside the greater-than and less-than, pointy-v-on-their-sides type brackets. If in doubt, look at the source for this page - in Internet Explorer, it's under the 'View' menu. Or have a look at one of the HTML threads, there are all sorts of other things like italics, bold you can do. Thanks again Jo PS I started writing this and it disappeared, apologies if there's a half-written response above this one... |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: I Want to Stay Here From: Sorcha Date: 16 Jan 00 - 11:27 AM Well, there it is. Sounds like a sappy MCP if you ask me. How do I get my line indents to stay indented after I submit? Or does the editor do this later? I type it all out in stanzas, and submit, and it comes thru as text.... |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: I Want to Stay Here From: Sorcha Date: 16 Jan 00 - 11:25 AM Honey, I just want to stay here and love you. Stay here and love you I don't want to go to the party with you I don't want to go th the dance, I don't want to go nowhere with you, I just want to stay here and love you Now that I can be alone with you I won't throw away the chance There is no place like home with you. I just want to stay here and love you. All through the week, I miss you so And now that I've got ya, honey, I gonna hold ya Closer and closer and closer I don't want to go for a walk with you Now that I am in your trance I don't even know if I'll talk to you Ijust want to stay here with you.

Subject: I Want to Stay Here From: Jo Taylor Date: 14 Jan 00 - 06:44 PM Sorry, people, not folk, but I thought some of you might remember this. A friend has asked me to find the lyrics for the following song. The title is 'I Want To Stay Here'. It hit the GB charts on 22 August 1963, stayed in the charts for 13 weeks and eventually reached number 3. By 'Steve and Eydie', AKA Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. Issued by CBS, reference number AAG 163. Written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King. Most of this courtesy of the 'Guinness Book of Hit Singles'! The title, though not the lyrics, appear on the International Lyrics Server; tried Olga too but couldn't find it. Probably horribly copyrighted but this is just for the friend's personal curiosity... any help appreciated. Jo |
