Subject: Tune Req: Appalachian song sung before the 1940's From: GUEST,e75briscoe Date: 21 Aug 23 - 09:57 PM I have a question I'm hoping you can help me with. My preacher wrote a book and mentions a song his mother sang in the 1940's in the Appalachian mountains. He's not sure how old the song is. It's about pioneers, a cabin in the woods, and an attack by Indians. The cabin was burned and everyone who lived there was killed. He said is a sad and mournful song but no idea what it was. Do you happen to know? |
